The water within us: Reconnecting with the essential

Water is not just a resource; it is the essence of life and a reflection of our inner balance. Over time, our connection with this vital element has weakened, just like our relationship with our own emotions. On World Water Day, we reflect on how the pollution of rivers and seas mirrors the emotional turbulence we carry. Through small conscious actions—such as drinking water with gratitude, reducing waste, and honoring our emotions—we can restore our relationship with water, bringing greater harmony to both our lives and the planet.

On March 22, we celebrate World Water Day—a reminder that water is not just a resource but the very essence of life. We are born in water, made of water, and we depend on it with every breath and every heartbeat. Yet, over time, our connection with water has weakened. We have treated it as something external, forgetting that in its purity, our own health, emotions, and inner balance are reflected.

Water is flow, movement, and transformation. It nourishes the earth so that fruits can grow, refreshes the air, and moves through our bodies—cleansing, sustaining, and nurturing life. But how is our inner water? Just as oceans can be polluted or calm, our emotions can be turbulent or harmonious. As it is outside, so it is within.

We have polluted the Earth’s waters with waste, chemicals, and excess. At the same time, we have filled our inner water with stress, resentment, fear, and neglect. The contamination of rivers and seas reflects our disconnection and lack of care for our own emotional waters. But balance can still be restored.

How can we restore our relationship with water?

Small daily actions can make a difference. Just as we can learn to care for our emotions, we can learn to care for water:

• Drink water consciously, expressing gratitude for its presence in our lives.

• Reduce waste by turning off taps when not in use and reusing water whenever possible.

• Cleanse our emotions—honoring our feelings, healing wounds, and allowing what no longer serves us to flow away.

• Harvest rainwater, embracing its natural cycle and restoring its importance in our lives.

• Reduce plastic use and avoid pollutants that end up contaminating rivers and oceans.

Water is life. It reflects and holds us. By healing our relationship with it, we also heal a part of the world. Today, on its special day, let’s remember that every drop counts, that every action matters, and that we can once again live in harmony with water—through respect, love, and gratitude.

Equinox: The Art of Living in Cycles

Since ancient times, humanity has observed nature’s cycles as a guide for life. The equinox, that brief moment of perfect balance between day and night, invites us to remember that everything in the universe follows a rhythm. However, in modern times, we have lost that connection to cyclical time, trapped in a linear routine that distances us from our essence. This article invites us to reflect on the importance of aligning ourselves with natural cycles, understanding the equinox not just as an astronomical event, but as an opportunity to recalibrate our energy and move in harmony with the flow of life.

Human beings, animals, plants, the entire universe… We all live in cycles. Day and night, the seasons, the moon, the heartbeat. Everything follows a rhythm, a natural order that sustains and guides us. Yet at some point in history, we disconnected. We moved away from the wisdom of cyclical time and got lost in a constant flow without pauses or conscious transitions.

The equinox is a reminder of that order. It is a moment of balance, where light and darkness meet in perfect harmony before leaning into a new cycle. In the Northern Hemisphere, we leave winter behind—introspection, the slow pace of inner life—to welcome spring: the season of awakening, blossoming, and manifestation. It is a time for movement, action, and expansion. Ask yourself: What do I want to bloom in this new cycle? What projects, what dreams are ready to take shape? Just as the earth is covered with buds and colors, we, too, can allow our ideas, intentions, and desires to come to life.

In the Southern Hemisphere, the path is the opposite. Summer, with its brilliance and intensity, fades into autumn. It is a time for letting go, for releasing what has fulfilled its purpose, for allowing what we have lived to transform into learning. Ask yourself: What do I need to let go of? What burdens am I ready to release? How can I make space for the new? Just as trees shed their leaves to nourish the earth, we, too, can let go of what no longer serves us, allowing everything to follow its natural cycle.

Living in harmony with cycles restores our sense of direction. It reminds us that there are times to expand and times to retreat, times to sow and times to harvest, times to nurture and times to empty. When we synchronize with the rhythm of the Earth, our lives flow with greater clarity and purpose.

Look at nature. The animal and plant worlds are deeply rooted in their cycles. They do not resist, rush ahead, or fall behind—they simply exist in each phase at the right moment. We, too, can reclaim that connection, allowing change to guide us instead of fearing it.

This equinox is an opportunity. A moment to observe, reflect, and take action in tune with the great rhythm of existence. Listen to the cycle you are in. If it is time to bloom, bloom without fear. If it is time to let go, release with trust. Everything has its time, and by living in harmony with it, we find true freedom.

Why is it essential for women to receive therapeutic and emotional support?

That is why, in all spaces—workplaces, schools, families, and therapeutic settings—it is essential to promote access to information and tools that help women care for their emotional and mental health. From therapy sessions and healing practices to alternative medicine and simple self-care habits, every action that enhances women's well-being is a step toward a more conscious and balanced society.

The Role of Alternative Therapies in Women's Well-being

Alternative therapies have proven to be a great support in emotional healing and balance. Some require the guidance of a therapist, but many can be integrated into daily life independently.

Women who raise children need spaces for reflection.
